Trust & safety

Cradl Safety Centre

Second-hand shouldn't mean second-guessing. Here's how to stay safe on Cradl.

Meeting in person

Always meet in a busy, public place during daylight.

  • Shopping centre parking areas or police station forecourts
  • Bring someone with you
  • Tell a friend where you're going

Pay through Cradl

Never EFT a seller directly. Cradl escrow holds the money until you confirm delivery, so you're covered if the item never arrives.

Check for recalls

Car seats, cots and sleep products are occasionally recalled. Check the manufacturer's South African site before buying and never buy a car seat that has been in a crash.

Items we don't allow

Some second-hand baby items can't be sold safely on Cradl.

  • Used dummies, bottle teats and breast pump tubing
  • Crash-damaged car seats
  • Recalled or drop-side cots
  • Prescription medication or formula past its date
